I’m running UE5.2 on Mac M2. In landscape mode the Smooth and Flatten brushes are not working properly. They gouge out deep chunks of the landscape; making deep holes in the hill or mountain I’m trying to create. Tool strength and brush falloff are set as default. Please help; it’s driving me insane. Especially as I’m still learning.
I’m having the same problem and its happening with the erosion tool as well. Even when I turn settings down to minimal. Went back to 5.1 and same problem - also on Max Ventura 13.4.
I resolved this issue by turning-off “combined layers operation” check-box under tool strength. Should be same for you on the Flatten, Smooth, Erosion and Hydro tools. Cheers.
Yes that worked. Thank you so much mavrix22. This really is a great solution and massive help. Thank you.
Did that and now none of them work at all. I’ll keep looking… thanks anyway.
thank you
Thank you so much mavrix22
Thank you so much it was frustrating for me when I was following the tutorial but found my flatten tool didn’t work as the tutorial did, and I was so confused, now I finally found peace, thank you sir!!!
My problem was on the layers, when I turned off the visibility of the other layer (roads), my problem was solved.
I just left the main layer (terrain) visible and voilá!
But thanks anyways!
Same here…
Have you found a solution already?
