Hi! I’m working on a prototype here in UE5.6. The environment is 3D, while the characters are 2D and follow the Paper Mario visual style (different body parts drawed separatly, then “stiched” on junction points and animated together) and I’m working on the animation process in Blender.
I’m worried that UE5.6 won’t let me import safely this animation style, or that Blender could represent a problem. Are there people who tried a similar thing to mine? In case, are there more reliable tools than Blender for this kind of job?
Hello there @Axoleis !
While I’m not familiar with the style of animation you are aiming for, I have experienced the relation between UE and Blender regarding animations, it’s not the best.
In case you encounter any mismatch with your animations when transferring them between the platforms, the first approach would be to reset export/import settings in both UE and Blender.
If the issue persists, then please follow the method detailed here. And as for alternatives, I found Maya to be more stable to work in combination with UE.
