Like I want to do some motion capture? Is there any free AI tool which can help me?
Hi @Nasty1512,
If you have an iPhone X or later / iPad 3rd gen or newer, the device comes with IR/LiDAR cameras made for motion capture, and you will have no problem finding a suite of mocap tools. Just remember that visual-based motion capture will always be a little worse than full-body tracking, and may require cleanup.
New AI technology has opened up mocapping to Android and traditional webcam devices, however most of these features are experimental / not the best quality.
Here are some videos going through phone-based motion capture techniques:
Also keep in mind that the new UR 5.6 release comes embedded with camera-to-engine mocap tools that so far seem very promising.
Sounds and looks really interesting will definitely give it a try.
One other option that i can suggest is grabbing an old kinect and playing around with that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVUefLRARRQ&t=223s&pp=ygUReGJveCBraW5lY3QgbW9jYXA%3D
Worked for me very well when i wanted to try out this stuff
You can do it with both xone kinect and 360, if you have it lying around you might find it usefull
