Thank you for posting in the community your question about importing using the old substitution table. Unfortunately at this time there isn't a way to get the old legacy plugin substitution mapping to work with the current Datasmith Exporter plugin. You can choose to use the substitution table during the import process but you will need to set it up and update it as needed.
Since there are many languages in Archicad and many users have different settings it is best that each user creates their own. It is definitely worth the time to set up as you have way more control than before. We understand the complexity the current system provides and are looking into improving this flow.
The good thing is there is an easy way to export in Archicad all the surfaces by creating a schedule in Archicad of the used surfaces then exporting it as an Excel Workbook. That will help copying the name of the surfaces in the table you create.
