I am working on making a game where the user is a car and they keep driving until they get 3 "strikes’, however when making it I came across the problem that I completely forgot the fact I must make an infinite plane/floor for the car to always continue. Granted I could just make the floor 1,000,000 units or any large number but thats just a waste of space if no one ever reaches it and I wouldn’t want to decorate 1,000,000 units of land with tress and buildings and all that other background stuff. I can’t resend the car back to the beginning on an infinite loop either because it will lose its motion and all of a sudden a car going 150km/h is back to 0 and that would be horrible quality of game play for a user and just really stupid in general. How do I make it so either the floor continues to regenerate at a certain point along with all the extra background features, just like a copy and paste right before the car falls off the ledge? Or can I send the car to the beginning again smoothly without it losing its motion speed and not drop down or lag or be bumpy or anything which would be poor game quality? I hope that all makes sense because I may have explained it really poorly so I hope someone understands and can help me out. I don’t know what I can do for this problem.
Hello,
i did a “streaming like” system recently which simply was a blueprint with floor, walls and event boxes to spawn the same blueprint front an destroy the one from where i came (with distance setting to do to not have weird appearing spaces. Maybe it’ll help you.
You can easily make a collision volume at the end of your plane, and OnCollision store the value of your car’s speed. Then respawn the car at the beginning, applying it it the stored speed value
