Image Quality Limits? Are there any?

Im looking to find out if there is a limit on the quality of the output of your mesh based on the quality of your images and by quality i mean resolution/ Camera and lens quality.

So does anyone know or fully understand, does the software have a limit where if say the image quality was 50MP would your mesh be better is it was 100MP or 200MP or does it get to a point that the image quality is capped and know longer helps your final output.

Assuming your lighting conditions and lens quality is the same and all camera settings, whats the restrictions off the software VS quality of capture equipment.

When does more money spent on kit stop being relevant and it becomes about only technique?

Thanks for your help

Hi sam,

from not aplicable…

Anyway, this is pretty much like asking if it’s better to buy a Porsche or a Ferrari.

Without any info on what YOU want in a sports car, there is no way to answer it.

Maybe it would even be better for your specific needs to buy a truck for that money instead?

Perhaps if you give us some more info on your aims and budget etc…

The general answer is, there is no limit apart from the input quality. So if you use perfect 10 mpx images the result may be better than rubbish 36 mpx images.
