I use the same graph as the third person blueprint. Maybe that’s why it’s not working? I don’t want to make a new project, just want to fix this one.
you created a blank blueprint project with no template? then you need to configure input in project settings. this step is essential.
but there is an easy way to do that without configuring it manually. just import third person template to your project.(click green add new button and click feature/content pack)

no need because all of your characters are in same project. just click play and check if it’s working. if it’s not working drag third person character blueprint from asset browser to editor viewport and set it’s animation blueprint to your animation blueprint
maybe when you play your player will have changed from your character to third person character to fix it open third person game mode blueprint and set default pawn to your character

The character still loops and doesn’t change direction. WASD and it moves forward and loops back every time. Colliding into walls but not going past them.
Hello. Going back to this screen shot, the reason your character wasn’t animating was because the Speed variable wasn’t being set by your anim BP’s event graph. If you take a look at the ThirdPerson sample event graph you’ll see that it is setting the Speed variable each frame. That’s needed because the Speed variable is used in the anim state machine to drive the blend space. Since in your project Speed is always 0, the blend space is always being driven with a 0, and so your character is always just in the idle pose.
Anyway, it looks like you’ve moved on from this point, but wanted to let you know.
did you changed third person character’s skeletal mesh to your character? don’t do that you mixed all the things up. create a new project with third person template and follow these steps to make animations and check if it’s working. so you can confirm that error is with your character.

open third person character blueprint. select skeletal mesh and set animation blueprint to your newly created blueprint and tell me what happenes when you play
