I’m using Modular Sci-Fi hallways and interiors. When I drag meshes into the level, I can’t see if they line up because the scene is too dark (or the meshes themselves).
I’m a noob at this type of stuff. I’m using UE 4.10.2. I’m probably not choosing the correct settings before clicking “Create Project”.
Create a new project with the starter content, then open a map with the envi in the ‘Starter Content Maps’ folder(try). Seems like you have open a map with no envi then the reflection is black since there isnt any envi. Or put a light just in front of your mesh ?
You can also try to hit Alt+3 or Alt+4, which turns the viewport to Unlit mode then just place a directional light into your level and you should be fine for the moment.
Nope. I wasn’t sure what I was doing wrong.
I’m going to try the lit/unlit method and using a spot light. I’m trying to build the insides of a spacecraft with very little windows so do I need “light source” and “sky sphere”?
If you’re using the “unlit” method, there’s no need for you to use a light at all. Basically what it does, is to remove all lightning information, and show everything “unlit”. You would only need a point light, sky light, directional light, or something similar, if you wish to add a work light, and remove again once done.
