Houdini Session Lost and other HDA problems

Hello,
We are working with Houdini Engine 19.5 in Unreal Engine 5.3.1.
The workflow is rather simple and it’s not for a game.

Houdini Artist delivers the HDA which generates a model of a house. The UE Artist can then use the parameters of the HDA to change the look, shape, height etc of the house.

If the HDA is updated, the UE Artist re-imports the HDA and new parameters/settings are automatically applied to the HDA in the Editor.

That’s in a perfect world… What actually happens is that we get “Houdini Session Lost” every time we try to rebuild an asset. Also, some HDA’s see to have “remembered” the previous HDA versions and won’t update to the latest one no matter what we do. So the parameters, UI, etc still remain the same even if we reimport the HDA over and over again.
This is also hindered by the “Houdini Session Lost” every now and again.

Could someone point us to some solution of this problem or some general rules of how to work with HDAs in UE? Clearly we are missing something.

Thank you
