HostPlugin Questions and Support

Yes, after testing the host in UE5, I would like to ask:

Is this the correct way to enable logs on the web server?

<env-entry-name>log</env-entry-name>
<env-entry-type>java.lang.Boolean</env-entry-type>
<env-entry-value>true</env-entry-value>

Yes, then restart tomcat. Yes, then restart tomcat. It should actually say something like this.

************************* Starting Unreal Host Plugin! Version 1.0 *************************
IPv6: 2a00:12d8:700e:0000:c74a:da43:586b:6af1
IPv4: 5.230.75.46

Maybe it’s the manager? But it seems to be starting, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to connect at all. Can you see in the resource monitor (windows app) in the network tab whether the server is there? TCP and UDP should be visible. At port 8000 or something with tomcat or java.

Actually, it shouldn’t be that complicated. Install Tomcat. .war file and enter IPs and tokens and you should be done.

That log file was right next to it. Is it supposed to be located there by default?

************************* Starting Unreal Host Plugin! Version 1.0 *************************
IPv6: 2001:4860:7:40e::e8
IPv4: 175.121.96.32
UnrealHostPlugin: TCP Server started on port: 8000
UnrealHostPlugin: TCP Server stopped: 8000
UnrealHostPlugin: Remove Host: iuXHFB

Start only one window in Unreal and start the host. Check the logs to see if it has been started and see if port 8000 is open in the resource monitor.

And are you sure that the IPs are correct? Try ipv4 127.0.0.1 and ipv6 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1.

I’m really sorry, I feel like I wasted your time for nothing.

May be It seems that I had my VPN enabled when entering the IPv4, so I was actually using an IP from a different region.

After correcting the IPv4 and testing again, everything finally seems to be working properly now. But when I entered the lobby map, it doesn’t seem to be in Listen Server mode like in the demo.

Do I need to configure something else?

Ah, okay. The IPs looked strange. Better remove the Vpn ips from the forum here.

I didn’t quite understand the other part. Are you changing the map? Do you use the plugin function “Server Travel”?

Hmm, this seems to be my issue…

Thank you for all your help so far!
