It seems you are using Hero Scots pine, which is 29645 triangles (compared to 7692 to the normal or the 4k tri on the cryengine example). If you put 1k of the hero trees on screen, you end up drawing about 26m triangles. That explains why you got low performance on your example.

No. I’m using the one from Desktop package which is the same as yours.
