Hidden Shadow Mesh Does Not Play Animations

Hey, everyone!

I’ve setup a true first person camera in Unreal Engine 5.5 and I needed to hide the head bone of the character but then the shadow looked ridiculous, obviously.

So I duplicated the character mesh with the same Animation Blueprint and Skeletal Mesh Asset but kept the head on this time.

That works wonders BUT only the basic locomotion + jumping is reflected on the “Hidden Shadow” mesh and none of the traversing animations work (as you can see in the short video below).

Could anyone please help me fix this?

Set your mesh to ‘Always Tick Pose and Refresh Bones’ under the component details, in the Optimization category, and hook this guy up somewhere, typically construction script:

That should work!
