Grzegorz Wronkowski - Moonlit Night 16K HDRI

This HDRI captures a serene full-moon night under a starry sky, photographed with a sharp Nikkor 20mm f/1.8 lens on a full-frame camera. The moonlight serves as the primary light source and produces crisp, realistic shadows thanks to the unclipped capture of the moon. To achieve full dynamic range, an additional exposure of the moon was seamlessly integrated, ensuring both the subtle night sky and the bright lunar disc are preserved. A neutral white balance was maintained throughout the capture. No AI was used – this is an authentic scene, recorded in real conditions.

With a resolution of 16K, this HDRI is ready for even the most demanding and detailed projects. The download also includes ready-to-use 8K HDRI assets optimized for Unreal Engine, while the full 16K version can be used in any rendering software such as Blender Cycles, V-Ray, Corona Render, and more. The sharp moonlight shadows and natural starfield make it especially suitable for architectural visualizations, outdoor environments, or any project requiring realistic night-time reflections and atmosphere.

To use this HDRI in Unreal Engine, simply enable the free HDRI Backdrop plugin created by Epic. It comes pre-installed in UE5 – just go to Edit → Plugins, search for “HDRI Backdrop,” and tick Enable.
