as much as I’ve loved all the streams & want to thank Epic for all the extra effort they have put forth to present them.

was sadly disappointed yesterday w/ the demonstration stream, not because it was bad but because of not being planned out for streaming

started off well, then it started using dual monitor, couple minutes later that was fixed then it switched back, went on for a while but got better as it went on
but then it started showing a cameo shot (screen within screen) and you could no longer even see what he was doing at all, so just had to stop watching sad to say

suggestion just alt tab or use tabs while streaming w/o the cameos or multi-screens & we ‘all’ should be able to see the demonstrations & the youtube videos will be useful later on (right now they’ll be useless looks like)

ps: I know I should post more with cats & plaid and not just posting on problems encountered but want the Epic experience to be a good one for everybody, thank & sorry if I offend in any way.

pss: please keep any comments reasonably intelligent

The point of the demonstration wasn’t to show you how to do it click-by-click.

Its sort of hidden, but if you click on Unreal Engine to see their profile, there is option to view past broadcasts.

Yes past broadcasts are available, just realize, is the unedited version, so be prepared to skip forward 20-40 minutes to the start of presentation. Or wait till its transferred to YouTube.

Not sure if its just me, but the day 2 VOD (the one with about 7 hrs) has very choppy video, altho the audio is fine. Will the youtube ones be fine?

is actually just because your browser or twitch can’t handle a 7 hour video. If you download the video and watch it in VLC it runs fine.

I am not , but I can say for sure that yes they will be. Additionally, we will be working to put the Kite video’s project onto the launcher so can have it :slight_smile: It requires 4.8 so it will be after that comes out.

I never had a problem with the 10+hrs of AGDQ, hence my confusion there.

Does mean the GI stuff will be coming out of the branch and into “Experimental” (Into the binary? :D)

just wondering,

openworld demo is different from the current landscape system or it’s the same thing ?

i want to spend some time learning landscape in ue4, so if it’s different it would be better to learn new stuff :wink:

The landscape was created with that same tool. The foliage was placed using foliage volumes (aka Biome Volumes) and the meshes are photometrically created

Getting as much as we can out is the goal!

for all the troubles & effort that I know ya’ll must’ve went through to stream & keep us up to date on GDC not to mention the forthcoming youtube videos and archives etc.
