I just created a Dev Provision, and now UE4 is packaging the IPA. I’ll get back soon with the log file(hopefully). Thanks! ![]()

Ahh… finally ![]()
Here’s the log from the crashing session.

I apologize for the delay. Unfortunately the log doesn’t give all that much information, but have you tried using a different video file to see if it could be content related? It would explain why I’m having trouble reproducing it.
Yeah, it was content related. I tried a different video resolution, and now it works! Thanks for the help and effort, I really appreciate it! ![]()
I realised there’s one more “tiny” problem. The game does not crash until the resoultion of the video is greater than 320x240. And that’s a pretty small resolution to work with…
Are you still experiencing that issue with size? If so, could you provide a sample project that reproduces the issue? I haven’t been able to reproduce that problem locally.
Yes, I am still experiencing the issue, but since the update to the latest release of ue4, the video doesn’t play at all, it just shows a black screen.
Should I send you the whole game? It is a release ready, simple mobile game, the only thing that doesn’t work in it, is this tutorial video.
If you could put the video in a fresh project and have it reproduce there , that would be great. A smaller project would be easier to debug than your finished project.
Can you provide me with something(like email, or forum username), where I can send the download link in private?
Thanks!
Sending a private message to me on our would be the best way. That link goes to my profile.

This is caused by the video not loading due to the path being manually set. In the LatestTut File Media Source asset, you had the full path from your C:\ drive to the Movie asset. This needs to be a wildcard path, which can be accomplished by using the “…” browse button beside the field. If you use this and select the media file, it should give you “./Movies/LatestTut.mp4” which will work on any device.
I noticed this because the movie wouldn’t play on my machine either since I don’t have the same file path as your PC does.
i did that, and it still doesn play the video on my phone…
Could you get logs from the phone? It played on the device I tested on after editing the path.
This is strange… I’ve put the game on my phone with iphonepackager, so I can get the logs, and the video played flawlessly. Looks like this bug only occurs when I launch the game from the editor.
It’s possibly related to the Launch process not cooking everything in the project. You could try adding the related media to the “Additional Asset Directories to cook” list under the expanded settings in Project Settings > Packaging. This will ensure that those directories are always cooked, whether the editor is aware of a reference to the asset or not.
