Fortnite Ecosystem 38.00 Known Issues Thread

We are aware that some Fortnite developers may experience a crash when starting UEFN. We will let you know when we have more information or a fix.

As a temporary solution please try the following:

  • Inside the Epic Games Launcher, navigate to the Fortnite client menu with the ellipse (…)

  • Go to “Options”

  • Ensure “High Resolution Textures” is checked

  • Click “Apply”

We’re investigating Fortnite login issues on all platforms. Please follow https://status.epicgames.com for updates.

We’ve resolved the issues affecting Fortnite logins and other in-game functionality.

In 38.00, agent has become a subclass of entity. This means that some functions that relied on those types being distinct to disambiguate themselves will no longer compile. For more information, please see the release notes.

Due to a crashing issue, we’ve removed the following templates from 38.00 to address the issues:

  • Design a Speedway Race

  • Design a Zonewars Game

  • Create a Wave Defense Map.

Creative templates will be restored in a future release.

We are working on a fix for the next update and will let you know if we have more information.

We’re investigating a naming conflict issue preventing validation on many UEFN islands. We will let you know when we have more information or a fix.

A recent hot-fix will allow projects with ambiguous identifiers to be opened; however, publishing will still be blocked at this time.

We’re working on a full fix, but it will require Creators to update their scripts to avoid the use of result since it was introduced as a new definition in 38.00.

If your island was previously using the “Team Index” setting for “Join in Progress” within Island Settings, you will need to update it manually by changing the following settings:

  • Join In Progress Behavior: Spawn Immediately

  • Join In Progress Assigned Team Override: Checked

  • Join In Progress Assigned Team: The team index originally used

This will be fixed in a future update.

FIxed: Players rejoining the same session are now correctly represented with the same player object.

Previously, rejoining players were incorrectly assigned new player objects, despite internally representing the same user.

We have fixed the issue where actors, static meshes, and devices lost the parent-child relationship state at runtime.
