A set of lighting presets using sky textures. Screen space reflection technology is used for non-directional by sky light lighting. The sky material uses an emissive, which illuminates objects on the scene. For ease of use, all lighting actors are placed in blueprint actors.

In sky light settings have been configured Distance Field technology for UE4.

The set is suitable for those who use versions of the UE4 engine, as well as if you need a non-standard and realistic sky with moving clouds. The lighting is configured under used the use of distance field shadows shading technology, for rendering similarity, lighting is the same as in UE5.

Sky textures have resolution 4096x2048, for some sky textures with clouds there is an option with texture resolution 12288x3072

Important additional notes:

  • First of all, this set created to replace the standard sky in new map for engine versions 4.24 - 4.27

  • Lighting settings are set for use with dynamic lighting (not for baked light, lightmaps)

  • This sky set does not have a dynamic change of day and night.

  • All assets and lighting settings, exposure are created on the UE4.24 engine version, in the UE4.27 version the exposure settings will be different.

  • In UE4.27 & UE5 editing settings works only in opened blueprint actor sky.

  • If you used this sky for android ES3.1 render or used without distance field shadows correct in sky light settings Lower Hemisphere Color or disable this tick.

  • In UE5 android ES3.1 preview render sky rotation work correct only on sphere BP Actor, in material sky rotation work jerks.

  • This pack support UE5 engine version, but it requires conversion of actors into UE5 space, will be added later.

  • In UE4.24 - 4.27 Enable in Project Settings Distance field Shadows & High Quality settings for shadows for correct works DFS

  • Additional can enable Screen Space Global Illumination (Beta) If enable distance field shadows and Screen Space Global Illumination, shading and lighting comparable to what is in UE5.
