Hi , this problem has bother me for a long time and one big reason we have went for Unity - for visualisation projects. Our “level” are always prepared in external packages like max/maya, in other words, not only staic mesh assets, but entire level/scene are assembled outside.
So now the problem we always facing - how do we import the level (which will be imported in parts for workflow reasons ) and put the parts back together exactly as they should, instead of placing them again manually.
I must have missed something here, thanks for the help.
center the pivot, freeze the transformations, delete the history and you would be all right. Make sure that the pivot is at the very base of the assets. are you working all by yourself or do you have a team?
Mostly me - can I ask , what unit dose UE4 use internally? my model( based on meters) comes in really small, looks like they needs to be scaled up 100 times, is there a way to change the default unit?
you need to scale them in max. In max 1 unit = 1 unreal unit = 1 centimetre .
it could be any unit in max; could be centimetre or kilometre but it would only be only 1 cm in unreal engine. Can you tell me how big the file size of Unreal 4 is?
I am on Mac, files are in different places, it’s hard to see how big every together is, plus, the example projects are optional to download which is downloaded later.
