Now I just upgraded to U.E. 5.5.4 from 5.5.3, and now none of my fab.com items aren’t compatible is there a way to fix this, as I can’t remove this and reinstall however unsure if that would work MAYBE they aren’t compatible yet.
Any suggestion welcome.
You can download the asset into and empty 5.3 editor, save it as a project. Then load 5.5 editor, and chose the project, it will make a copy that is compatible… bit of a pain, but it works.
You could also try this method, Open the Project in the 5.3 editor, select the folder that holds the project, right click and chose Asset Behaviour, then you can either save it as a transferable format (gltf), or transfer/Migrate to another Contents folder in another project. It ‘should’ take care of any adaptions needed on load up of the 5.5 project… You need to create the 5.5 version of the project. You imports a gltf file in the same way you import any asset from disc.
I personally, load the latest editor and then using its own launcher, open the lower editor project, allowing it to make a compatible copy, even though it creates yet another copy of the project.
If you are selecting the Asset from the store, and it is compatible with the Editor you are using, you can import that directly into the project. Sellers check a box which states the contents are Assets Packs and not a Standalone Project, for that purpose. They/We also upload Editor versions one at a time. Not all assets are updated and become depreciated.
Mostly, if the pack doesn’t use editor dependencies, or scripting, which can sometimes no longer work with later editors… most assets can be ‘Imported’ directly from the FAB weblink bridge, found in the 5.5 Editor.

In addition the exported Folder, now in GLTF, format can be imported using the standard Import function. Sometimes the actual folder cannot be included with the content, but selecting the content desired and exporting it, can be imported into a new folder you create in the 5.5/5.4 project. Once in the Contents folder, you can drag/drop wherever you need them, make sure you hit the Redirects function.
