I want to add, my recollection of UE4 optimization:
If you HLOD a number of meshes for each HLOD, you can significantly improve resource retention but limiting out of Line of Sight objects and maintain Collision primitive of the HLOD itself,

This is how you learn. I had to rebuild a series of lamps turning on and off in my map and … … that was a good thing because 2nd time around I built it so much better
