exporting DTM

I used my drone to map a summer camp in town for a new drainage system… the model came out great and the ortho projection came out perfect… I also had it generate a DTM which looks correct on screen… it has the proper color gradient that follows the terrain…

 

I am trying to export it to qgis but when I export the DTM, the TIFF that is created is just black and white with no gradient…

Is there some other setting I need?

Hi Harold,

             You can think of the tiff as just just being pixel values for the other program to interpret however it likes. In QGIS the default is black and white, you can change this by going onto the layer properties, and there are options there to color the DTM as you wish.

oh ok!  So the B&W is normal for the export?  And in QGIS is where the color change can be made?  If that’s the case, awesome!  Thanks very much for the quick reply! This saved a lot of time.
