Just to verify (because I had a hell of a time finding this) your “Environment Query System” flags is checked, correct?
You can get to the flag by opening the “Edit” dropdown menu (top right in the editor between “File” and “Window”), then clicking the “Editor Preferences…” option. That should open a window called “Editor Preferences”, from there select “Experimental” from the left hand column under the “General” heading, then in the main window under “AI” check “Environment Query System”.
I have no idea why this system is still marked experimental in 4.17 considering its tutorials are from back in 4.9. I suspect because you’re using a new build of the editor your Editor Preferences have been reset.
