I’m having the same problem. After clicking on the updater, he popup window says it can’t connect and freezes. The work around listed below didn’t work for me.
Here is the solution for Mac users:
Exit the Epic Games Launcher entirely.
Navigate to the following directory:
/Users/{user name}/Library/Preferences/Unreal Engine/EpicGamesLauncher/Mac/
Open the Engine.ini file in a text editor (I used Brackets.io)
Edit the file to include the following
[Launcher]
ForceNonSslCdn=false
*Note: If the file has the above entry saying true change it to false. If you don’t see the above entry at all in the file then copy and paste it into the file.
Save the file.
Try launching the Epic Games Launcher.
Downloaded the launcher today. Issue was present.
open /Applications/Epic\ Games\ Launcher.app --args -ForceMacOldHttpImpl
did fix it.
Until yesterday, I had Unreal Engine 4.27 working really well on my MacBook. However, last night I updated to Monterey 12.0.1 (why? oh why?!!) and now my projects freeze after opening and I can’t do anything with them. I’ve attached a Zip file of my Logs and some Screen Grabs of my computer’s activity link text. What should I do to get moving again?
Many thanks
