i fixed this issue by reopening the epic games installer and letting it repair the damaged program. the prerequisite launcher (on the windows 10 uninstall it shows the epic games logo faded out) is necessary to have it work properly. when the installer runs the might be a auto run program blocked my either your anti-malware or your anti-virus. if you have clicked block and remember the epic games launch error will appear. i first restarted my computer. disabled my anti-malware (only for enough time to finish the update process of the repair on the installer. everything has worked ok since then. only did this last night so i havent turned my pc off yet so dont know if this has to be repeated every start up.
