That is not quite true. Bugs are being addressed, help is being provided, stuff is being developed. Is the support lacking, sure, is it nonexistent? Not at all.
is still minimal audience esp considering the amount of game devs on , I know about only a dozen that do it publicly and I am one of them.
Would more support from Epic side help? Sure, but that is a battle we fight everywhere.
+1 for the launcer and access to the market … I feel the need, help us to work with a decent operating system
Another +1 here. Pleasant surprise to get the editor running smoothly only to run into this issue.
The question is from 2016. It’s 2019, and there are no clues for whether the Launcher will ever be supported on . The Marketplace website just doesn’t work (doesn’t process orders because of a CORS error) right now. So developers, like me, are left with no choices at all to download assets, neither free or paid ones. Yes, I tried that NodeJS-based tool, can’t login. Tried the Java-based tool too, doesn’t work either. This is so terribly frustrating.
Come on, Epic devs, you amazing guys built the single best game engine out there! Is it that hard to make the Launcher work on ? Can’t you even open-source it, or at least part of it, so that the amazing community that has could share some effort on this and make it happen? I’m pretty sure there would be voluntary developers - myself included - wanting to help with that.
Please take this message as a motivational one, not as a rant. I love UE4, but I can’t help but feel a bit abandoned as a dev.

I would be willing to work on this team, I have already contributed quite a bunch to maintaining the engine running on .
I am currently in process of figuring out what would be needed to gain access to the source of the Mac Launcher as I imagine that would be a good place to start imho.
