Engine Features Preview 8/20/2015

in 4.9, any news about in-app purchase payment or official tutorial would be appreciated!!

Oh wow, the pivot improvements are super nice. Great work!

BP alignment is great. It’s missing a “straight-line” or “align pins” option though, maybe it’s just me but it looks so much cleaner when all lines are straight

It’s been a while since we don’t get another engine features preview…

Agreed, I am eagerly waiting a new features preview.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay. Right now the new features will be less of a focus for a little while. The majority of what has been going into 4.10, as you can see from github, are bug fixes and improvements to features. I have pulled a couple of new features aside for an upcoming news post, but I want to get some more content ready before publishing it.

This is great news!

Thanks Lord, for the new Color Picker. Amen.

Yes it is!

Thank the gods for a focus on bug fixing / improvements \o/

yay!

any work being done on the physics?

Will 4.10 include any of these thing?

  1. Improve real time reflection? Last time i check my real time mirror using material is real bad so i have to switch to using camera and texture and lot of calculation and set up.
  2. Unified Cooker: One cooked set of content for Win, Mac, Linux. I am too lazy to switch between a Mac and a window computer.
  3. Build lighting for selected object separately? It is not always a nice thing to do when you have to re-build an entire big *** scene each and every times.
  4. Some build in function to allow user export video file (.mp4, .wmv,…) in package build? At the moment i can manage that with some 3rd party libraries, but it still a painful experience and it is worse when you have to consider cross-platform.
  5. Some function to allow user to search object by tag in editor? I don’t usually use tag system, mostly because if you want to edit/add or remove tag, you have to find each and every object by hand, which is a very depressing thing to do consider how lazy i am.
Thank you very much and hope you guy have a nice sunny day.

Big props for Epic for listening to the community and focusing on bug fixes & stability!

oh pivot offset! small but too good addition.
