We created this documentary entirely with Unreal Engine 5 Using features such as MetaHuman Animator, Procedural Content Generation and many more. The team has never been to Egypt; hence, all the information, maps, layouts, designs, etc., were retrieved from sources available online.
Super stoked to watch this. Hope you’ve been well!
As an absolute history nerd, this documentary immediately got me hyped. Especially when all the actual historical replicas were being showcased. The wall art and “invaluable objects” alongside the explanations you’ve given - made this doc incredibly engaging. Specifically, the storytelling from the paintings are just done so beautifully and displayed in such an impactful way.
History nerd moment aside, the technical elements made this video absolutely wicked. The metahuman animations, ai voice, and lighting bring so much of the project to life. So much skill and passion has gone into this doc and it definitely shows. Wonderfully done!
Thanks so much for sharing and I hope to see more of your work in the future!
Thank you so much @PresumptivePanda for your words buddy. It really motivates us to work harder and create more We have another short cinematic with photogrammetry which is dropping end of this week and other videos planned for upcoming weeks
Interesting idea for a documentary. I’ve always thought that Unreal Engine with MetaHuman is a great combination for such projects. That’s what you proved!
Great piece of art!
I’m wondering if the close-up, extreme close-up style of shooting the character was intentional. I noticed that you didn’t use any other shots, like the medium shot, or the American shot, which is typical for documentaries.
Did you want to add tension to the frame, or was there another reason for this choice?
The main reason for the close-up shots was that due to lack of time, we didn’t have body animation for the MetaHuman so we had to take all the shots as you mentioned.
Either way, it got attention, which is great!
Did you add makeup in the MetaHuman editor or separately? (I don’t remember if there is Cleopatra makeup)
