Editor crashes when opening a level that is streamed and has a navmesh

Hi qimmer,

Can you list the exact steps you take before the crash occurs? Does this occur in a clean, blank project with no additional content?

Btw - I have had much higher rate of occurence of this issue in a project with a large landscape, although like I said in previous posts , it occurs on a brand new project with a cube and navmesh as well (just much less frequently).

Do you have a sample project this is occurring in that you’d be willing to share? I haven’t been able to reproduce this on my end.

I am having the same same issue. When I try to open a sublevel, editor crashes. I am using version 4.8

Hi ambhar,

Are you able to open the sublevel if you open another level first that is not in the persistent level? Is the sublevel loaded within the persistent level when you attempt to open it? Do you have any crashlogs or callstack that I can take a look at?

Hello ,
I have two sub levels. It crashes when I open one sublevel, but works fine when I open other sublevel. From the other sublevel, I am able to open the previous sublevel too.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the additional information. I was able to reproduce this on my end and have entered a bug report, UE-20857, to be assessed by the development staff. In the meantime, the best workaround would be to open a level that does not have a navmesh in it (I would just create a blank level until this is resolved) and then open the sublevel you are trying to get access to.

Is there any way to track Unreal’s bug reports (on UDN or otherwise)? We too have encountered this issue and I’d like to be able to track the progress on the fix so that I could integrate a fix when it has been completed.

Unfortunately at this time we do not have a public bug tracker. If you have a specific bug report number and post on the relevant answerhub post/forum thread, we will be more than happy to look up the status of the bug and provide any relevant information.

Seems that this is not an issue in 4.10 anymore though. I just installed it today and it hasn’t been breaking so far.
