We finally figured out what’s causing this, it’s related to streaming large textures when raytracing is used. It will be fixed in the next 5.5 hotfix release.

Hello everyone,
I am experiencing this issue in UE 5.5.3 with some 8k Metahuman textures. I suppose it will be fixed in 5.5.4?
Is there any known workaround in the meantime, except shrinking the max texture size?
Unfortunately there are no workarounds besides reducing texture size or turning off hardware raytracing, but it’s fixed for 5.5.4, which will be released very soon.
