Woah that physic/animation presentation is amazing. The new immediate physic mode looks really cool. I can’t wait to try ragdolling 100+ character and not get 1fps. The new painting tool has a lot of potential, I mean with some tweaking it can be use to paint skin weight for deforming character? The 3Lateral presentation is super impressive, being able to change a character looks and still have facial animation that stay mostly working is crazy impressive.

The only issue I see is that their facial animations are full blendshapes… and requires a LOT of them; but the end result is plain perfection.

From that presentation, it was done using only bones. They are planning to add morph support in order to increase fidelity. Let me find the time mark for that Twitch

Nope, they use bones, but their tech also uses hundreds and hundreds of blendshapes to achieve that speech animation.

I really hope so.

Man am I the only one super excited for in-engine IK/FK animation? That’s a huge freakin’ deal - the entire SFM community will start moving over once proper rigging support gets put in place. This combined with Sequencer will make Unreal Engine the one stop shop for all serious machinima enthusiasts. I’m incredibly excited for the future of Unreal.
