Strongly against forced open-sourcing code plugins - revealing proprietary code, algorithms, and techniques should not be a requirement to participate in the store. It’s like asking every game to be open-source… you’re dealing with companies that have taken risks and invested time and money into a product. They don’t want to give their hard work away just because some people think open-sourcing is the only real option (and who are often hobbyists without much concern for products and their risk/reward - to them, open sourcing has no downside).
I like the ‘Open Source’ / ‘Closed Source’ tags - it works for both parties in as many cases as possible.
EDIT: Not that I’m saying that hobbyists’ opinions don’t matter! It’s just that there’s more to it than personal beliefs Sorry if the above sounded mean.
