After I install the DirectLink ArchiCad 24 plugin I put it in Add-ons(Import;Export), I have also the Datasmith Palette in Archicad, but when I open Twinmotion and click import to do a directlink it says "no source available". I tried everything that is written in the discussions(config, reinstallation of archicad, epic games and Twinmotion 2023.1 Preview as well.
Same problem for me but with Archicad 26 on Twinmotion 2023.1 preview 2, i've tried everything, i'm stuck. Still "no source available", this is urgent or i have to redo the whole work ....
Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles. This can occasionally happen if the cache directory is no longer accessible or needs to be reapplied.
Would you be able to open Archicad then go to the Datasmith palette and click on connections.
Once the window opens go to the bottom and select the 3 dots to open the cache directory path, and specify a new location in a safe place on your machine. I would remove it from the temp folder as that sometimes gets erased.
You can reference this article as this shows how to change the cache directory path: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Missing-Textures-after-Rebooting-the-Computer-Mac-Only
If the above did not help it could be a blocked network port as Direct Link uses network communication. You could try exporting as a udatasmith. Please contact us directly if your still having issues: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/case-community-page
I did have the same problem once. After a few hours puzzling around, I did realise that my active Archicad window had to be in 3D view instead of 2D. In 3D everything did link together.
Thank you for the follow-up message and glad you were able to solve the issue. This is strange that you had to uninstall Unreal Engine to resolve this problem.
Here is an important article to reference for version compatibility with Twinmotion.
THanks for replying. So in my case the issue was that I had installed both versions of UE in the same time. It was my first time trying UE and I thought I need them both but it turns out I don`t. I hope the issue doesnt come back.
However I noticed another small related issue, recently in Revit, when I try to synchronize, I get the message that it needs to be in a 3d Window even though I am in the 3D window already. Usually this is fixed after restarting Revit. Not sure why it happens, it didn`t happen before.
Thank you for getting back to me on letting us know about this behavior and the workaround with restarting Revit. The problem doesn't seem to be occurring in Revit 2024. Please report a bug if you run into further issues.
