Defined patches with a lot less points

Hi Withnail

Thanks a lot for taking a look! :sunglasses: In my defense it was that one row of images that looked as blurry as that. The rest were much sharper, but I need to be a lot more careful when taking pictures for sure.

much sharper ? not so much… i would NOT use any of them, all images are “too” blurry…

I reviewed your settings (please don’t be shy about saying why you changed what you changed  ) and I think I understand most of the changes you did. First you set the detector sensitivity to Low, I assume this is better when the images are of lower quality?

Yes, LOW can be used to solve this but again it needs a bit of experience when you use them… or you can use a combination of first medium-high ( NOT ultra ) and then LOW…

You’ve also raised quite a bit the max features per image, and the preselector features. Regarding preselector the manual just says:
“Preselector features This is the number of features that will be used in alignment from the detected. Optimally, set it to 1/4-1/2 of the detected features.”

you set say 80k detected points but the PRESELECTOR takes just the desired amount of them ( taking better quality features ) so it takes say 40k points that are used for alignment process. but the final alignment takes from the preselector value points. you can get info on a particular image in the 1Ds view or, when you have it in the 2D view ( image loaded in the view ), set to 1Ds view…
