Data Layers broken in 5.1?

Hello diego.ba7op, I’ve been very busy with 2 jobs and as a hobby UE freak. Unfortunately I have no information about a link to the reported bug sry.
But I made a little videos, to enable the runtime settings in the editor, i hope i can help others, maybe :grimacing:

Hi @diego.ba7op sorry about not seeing your reply earlier. It seems like Epic couldn’t repro my bug report so there’s no issue being tracked / to link you to…

But maybe it wasn’t a bug and instead user error! @TomTomGG’s video looks very promising! For SEO posterity and so the annals of time and Internet migration don’t kill the information contained in a video asset which may one day no longer be visible… let me try and transcribe the instructions:

  1. Find the Data Layer asset in your Content Browser.
  2. Right-Click → Edit
  3. Under Data Layer Category → Data Layer Type → Dropdown choose Runtime (not Editor).
  4. As soon as you do this, the missing Advanced → Runtime → Initial Runtime State setting in the DataLayers window should appear!

I had retired using these in 5.1, but I’m now trying again with 5.2 and this just concluded my 2-hour chase as to why I couldn’t find my data layers while running the game. I appreciate that it only took 2 hours as well (thanks to this tiny nugget of undocumented info!)
