Hey ,
I have downloaded your project, opened it and also played the Australia scene within the editor. I have not crashed. Could you please provide me the crash that you’re receiving? I’m curious as to why it’s crashing on your machine and not mine.
Thanks!
the log is two posts above. The 118.8kb one.
Hey ,
Have you tried simply deleting the saved, intermediate and config files from your project folder? I would create a copy of the project folder before attempting this just in case. However, I did attempt this on my computer and the project opened up just fine.
By the way, the that you provided do cut off towards the bottom. Are you able to get the rest of the error ?
Looking forward to hearing back from you, let me know if you have any further questions.
Hey,
finally tried some tests now. Deleting those folders didn’t help for opening the original file but I managed to open some backup files.[link text][1]
Does this log tell you anything? I guess I’ll just start over.

Hey ,
Please go into your DefaultEngine.ini and remove the default loading map. This should then provide you with a blank default level that loads first. Once you’ve done that, please try to load up the Australia map. If it comes up with an error and crashes, please provide us with the . Also look through the error and see whether or not it’s an asset or blueprint that’s causing the crash. If we can pinpoint what’s causing the crash, we would like that to be zipped and sent to us for further investigation.
I feel that it’ll be something dealing with one of these assets/files:
LogLinker:Warning: Can't find file '/Game/Materials/Concrete'
LogLinker:Warning: Can't find file for asset '/Game/Materials/Concrete' while loading ../../../../../../Unreal projects/Australia/Content/AustraliaScene_Auto7.umap.

Hey,
Also, if you’ve moved a lot of files around, or even deleted some you may want to look over the following [documentation][1]. Once you’ve followed the information within that link, I would highly suggest to delete the saved, intermediate and config files again and see if that helps any, especially if the above information does not resolve your crash.
Thank you!
Asset Redirectors in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.1 Documentation
I created a new project from scratch and started to import my stuff again, it was ok for a couple of days, and this morning it crashed again. Yesterday morning I renamed several folders from textrures to Mytextures, etc. But it was ok, I saved and exit. It loaded fine, only, I saw Textures folder reapear again, also Mesh to MyMesh, and I saw Mesh again. I did not delete and create new one but I renamed the Mesh one. I don’t think that’s not allowed since it’s an option.
It seams now that I will have to start again for the third time. I can’t wait several days, for support and then see I have to start again anyway. I don’t know what’s wrong. Can you send my project further to see if they can help me?
Also one thing I remembered. Yesterday after my project build lighting, I tested it a bit, and then clicked close, it did ask to save something and I clicked yes. Did that save everything? I have a habit of clicking close and then yes to promt save as I do with other software. Should I always click ctrl-s always before close instead?
Ok, this time I managed to open my level from a backup folder…still I would really apreciate your info on my questions.
Also, it seams that maybe my Movies folder containing a music video for TV is crashing. Strange that it doesn’t do that on your end. Not sure what am I missing then.
thanks
Hey ,
When I close my projects, I make sure to go to file > save all before exiting. I’ve noticed that if I only press save, it’ll still prompt me to save other files. But when I use the save all function, it saves everything…the shortcut command for that is shift+S. I don’t typically use short cut commands, but that’s my personal preference.
When you renamed your folders, etc did you right click within the Content Browser and choose to ‘fix up redirectors in folder’?
I’ve also noticed that sometimes it’s best if you delete the saved, intermediate and config files when your project is acting up. It seems to reset the way that the project actually opens and recreates those files/folders for you.
Since you’re having trouble with media/movies, do you have any you can provide from the trouble you’re experiencing? Does a crash reporter pop up?
Thanks!
When I renamed my folder I did not fix up redirectors, and now if I do, those original folders remain. I’ll just leave them. Still it’s strange it made these ghost folders, or actually left original ones since I renamed them.
I think this is the log that was created during Movie crash. I read a lot of people experience this and it is already logged. So here’s my log in case it’ll help.[link text][1]

Hey ,
The folders that you’re trying to delete, do they pertain to any starting content? if any of the folders still sticking around are from the starter content folders, this is a known issue which can be referred to as: UE-11796
Here are the errors I’ve found within your provided:
Warning: Failed to begin reading directory changes for ../../../Engine/Plugins/Experimental/CharacterAI/Content/. Error: 0

I created a folder Materials, and Mesh when I started my project. Both directly in Content. Then later I changed both of these to MyMaterials, and MyMesh. I changed the names in UE, not in Windows Explorer. Than I saw that original folders are still there. Mesh is now gone, but Materials remain. It’s ok.
About the log, those errors with Dubrovnik in them are the Media materials and textures…so related to movie. I guess I deleted those before the log. I guess you can close this topic now since it’s definitely because of Media textures since I’ve tested that several times. Whenever I create a media texture it’s usually ok when I’m in Unreal, but when I save and reopen the next day it crashes. Deleting Media textures and files before opening those crashing maps fixes it. Also I read I should select “from memory” for Media textures, but leave at from URL. But so far, I couldn’t get it to work, I tried with mp4 files. First one played, the second movie didn’t. But maybe it’s due to their format specs. Both still crashed my maps, even the one that didn’t play at all.
Hey ,
It is likely due to your media. I would suggest looking over all of the media [documentation][1] that we do have for UE4. If you’re not able to figure out the issue at that point in time, I would then put in another AnswerHub question regarding the media specifically.
Have a wonderful day!
