Control Rig - how it works?

I came back to post this link as I somehow found it myself looking through Youtube thoroughly. Thanks it’s a gem !

Do the rig parameters work in 4.25? I can create new parameters, they will appear in the anim bp rig node as pins, but they do absolutely nothing.
For example, I made a float parameter, which I use to multiply something in the rig, whatever I put as value in the anim bp it does nothing, like the value it sees is always 0.
Which is the right way to use them? Or they are just broken?

how can i rig a character like an animal from blender? i have onlye seen manekeen example andd the scorpion but i don’t know if the skeleton needs a special bone orientation

I’m also getting this issue in 4.25.

For my specific case, I’m changing the Effector Bone (in CCDIK node) with a parameter connected to the AnimBP, but the change is not reflected in the Control Rig.
