Contract for marketplace assets?

Hi,
Can someone tell me where the user contract is for Unreal marketplace assets?

Specifically I would like to know what Unreal’s conditions are for using assets in online teams. I read the Unity contract and they say if you are an employer with brick and mortar premises, you only have to buy one copy of an asset for all of your employees. However if you are part of an online team, every person in your team must buy their own copy of that asset. So I would like to know if Unreal has different conditions.

Hey Ariegos! Here is the excerpt from the marketplace FAQ that should answer your question:

“All content sold on the Marketplace is licensed to the buyer (who may be either an individual or company) for the lifetime right to use the content in developing an unlimited number of products and in shipping those products. The buyer is also licensed to make the content available to employees and contractors for the sole purpose of contributing to products controlled by the buyer.”

Basically you can make the assets available to your team, but they can only use them for your products. They can’t go and use the assets for their own personal projects or use.

Hope this answers your question!

Thanks for answering Jon.

What worries me is it covers employees and contractors, but online collaborations are not mentioned at all. So lets say I want to make a game with friends on the Internet (which is all I want to do), we do not appear to be covered if we each use our assets in that game.

Same rules applies - while your team(You & friends) using these assets for your collective project everything is fine. But if someone from your team want to use these assets for the project of his own - he should purchase it for himself

Great. Thanks guys.

Glad to assist. Happy developing! =)
