Content Examples Project doesn't allow to select version of Unreal Engine at creation

Hello! recently i tried to install Content Examples project but found that the option of selecting the version of Unreal Engine when I click “Create project” button is gone. I’m trying to install it as usual from my Epic Games Launcher from the Fab section. Any ideas what’s gone wrong, or maybe now it should be installed using different means? I currently have multiple Unreal Engine versions installed, I wanted to download Example Project for the most recent (5.6).

Hi @psychedelicfugue ,
I just tested downloading and installing Content Examples, and it let me open a new project, as you can see in the image .

It’s possible that when you tried, either the servers or your connection weren’t working properly. Another possibility is that you didn’t have enough free space on your drive, so it wouldn’t let you install it.

As for selecting the version, once you click Create Project, you should see the option Select version of the engine for the project. There, you can change to the version you want to use.

Side note, not your case, but if you don’t have the correct Engine version installed, you’ll get this message. You just need to download the right version and then it will let you install it.

Hope it helps and let me know if it works!!

Thanks for your reply, I’ve installed Content Examples many times, so I know how the installation should look like: The menu which allows to choose particular version to install now is gone. I took into consideration everything you mentioned: I have proper version of Unreal (btw, I have multiple versions of engine installed - 4.27 'til 5.6), I have enough space on my ssd’s, there’s no problem with Epic servers because I’ve encountered this problem since version 5.5. I’d better attach video to show you what the installation process looks like on my side.

thats weird , I’ve been researching a bit and didn’t find an identical case in the posts I checked; there are a few similar ones (sharing in case any of them helps):

Also, you could try running Verify from the Epic Games Launcher, since it looks like the Content Examples project may have gotten corrupted, and Verify usually rebuilds files and manifests.

let me know if it works!
