Character Retargeting Issue

Hi,

I got a problem about retargeting animation and can’t figure it out.
I got a character model rigged with epicskelaton and the rig has couple of extra bones for hair. When I try to retargeting for Unreal’s standart animations my character’s feet go down under the ground.
Before I started this project I’ve used same character in Unreal 5.5.4 and it was made that retargeting withour any issue but I’m making this character for epic market and I think if I publish it with 5.5 anyone who using Unreal 5.4 or older versions can’t use my characters because of the downgrade isn’t possible. So, I decided to recreate all project with Unreal 5.0 and now I got this problem. Anyone have a solution for this problem?

Hey @sametbulduk!

Yep, you’re either gonna:

  • Edit the retarget pose of the source / target

Or easier,

  • Open up your retargeted anim sequence, make sure to have the slider on frame 0, select the root bone, adjust its transformation accordingly, then hit the Key button at the top with a plus (+) icon on it to add the track
