Chameleon Post Process

Is there a way to have a radial blur with a clear and perfect circle in the center? Currently, you can apply a texture mask but that gets stretched with different resolutions. The is there another way in your system I am missing?

Also, Gaussian Blur would be a great addition

Currently, there isn’t. However, I’m taking this as a feature request and I’ll see what I can do about it.

Update: I came up with solution that contains two new fields to set blend mask scale. Coming with next update.

New feature: World distance masking for all post-processing effects. Coming with next update.

Wow! Thank you that’s really great, thanks for doing that, I think it will be a great addition!

A new effect from the upcoming update: Screen Fire

I have one plane with translucent material. Is there any way to exclude it from being post processed by Chameleon? CustomDepth works, but only for opaque objects.

Its not related to chameleon directly but maybe someone here can help me…
is there a way to exclude meshes from the global post process process ?
i cant find a solution anywhere here…

Translucent materials can’t be caught for masking by Chameleon. At least for now.

There’s no excluding mechanism in Chameleon. Instead, you can use ā€œIncludingā€ feature in the effect’s advanced tab. Which should give you the same results.

I can’t seem to get rid of this texture on the letterbox. Any ideas? I’m just using the black texture.

Hi, rcdarcey.

Can you share your engine version as well as the settings screen of the effect?

Sorry…I should have included that in the first place. Engine version is 4.18.2 and see attached for my settings

How about feeding ā€œBlend Maskā€ slot with a full white texture? I’m also checking this on my end. Will let you know about the result.

YUP! That fixed it  Thanks!

Happy to hear that : )

We’re trying to use the Neon effect to outline buildings in a city. The city is at real world scale. However, the Neon effect seems to drop off after a certain distance.

Here, the city is scaled down to .5 to minimize the problem. I’ve gone down as small as .2; however, we’re prefer to work with the assets at real world scale.

Is there a way to extend the Neon effect? I’ve noticed that other effects do not seem to have this issue. Thank you.

Hey,

I’ll try to test this in a similar scene. Will let you know about the results.

Greatly appreciated! Just FYI, the mesh in the photo is about 4.25 km wide and 10.25 km long (scale set to .5, however). Kind regards,
