Can't find Xcode install for Metal compiler

July of 2024, on a newly formatted M3pro, it still happens. Xcode from app store, unreal 5.4.2 from launcher. Why the hell is this not fixed for years?? Whenever I don’t remember the command line texts, I bookmark this page and return to ‘copy’ the line…

It works also with X-Code 16.1 and UE 5.4. Thanks a lot.

  1. download Xcode in Apple Store.
  2. run Xcode
  3. click menu-Xcode-Settings-Locations-Select your path
  4. Done!
