You should shoot more images in areas with greater detail,use aperture of 8 and above, use as low ISO as possible, add more close ups, not taking too many pictures from a far which would then decrease the quality because of the lack of resolution, use external flash to remove the hard shadows from your model and process your raw pictures with increasing shadows and decreasing highlights, there is so much more to do but these steps could help you improve.
