Artifacts while using DirectX 12 in Unreal Engine 5.5.

Hi all!. We’ve recently moved from DirectX11 to DX12, but we noticed strange artifacts appearing on poorly lit surfaces, or at the border between light and shadow. Our settings are as follows:

  • DirectX12
  • global illumination: none
  • reflections: Screen Space
  • screen percentage: 80%

When I change screen percentage to 100%, there’s no noticeable improvement. When I change global illumination to anything other than none, it’s even worse.

Here’s what the artifacts look like:

This looks kinda similar to raytracing/pathtracing without a denoiser.

What happens if you switch between lumen off vs on or hardware raytracing ?
