animate an actor when generated

You misunderstand your own script.

This timeline is for moving the leaf up from the box. Leave it as is. When it completes, fire the second timeline that is inside the leaf - it creates the falling animation.

with the lerp it does come out but the animation does not continue afterwards

As mentioned above, the values are too low. You’re moving it by 5 centimeters only.

And your example does not even call the timeline. At least we cannot see it.

When you hit the box, spawn the leaf, nothing else:
