No sorry but you misinterpret this.
First, in the case of the graphic novel (I read the article about it), the author (a human being) used AI images to incorporate them into her novel - so the AI generated work was only a piece of the whole work AND she selected and edited the AI images to fit the story.
She could have just selected art made by another human and it would fit equally. She got the copyright for her overall work on the graphic novel, not for the AI generated content in it.
AI assets that are sold on the marketplace right now are just generated content by the AI program (e.g. Midjourney), sold directly as is - in the case of InfinityPBR they were not even edited, as one can see from his public Midjourney feed (see screenshot).
Mere collections, compelations and similiar also do not change the copyright situation, as otherwise I could just steal someone elses work, put it into a collection and claim copyright for it.
A collection of AI generated content is still just AI generated content, no human being created these works and therefore they have no copyright.
I agree that there are gray situations, but in this case - AI assets being sold on the marketplace - it’s very clear cut.
