That shouldn’t still be happening, an update last week was meant to fix it. I’ll check it out, but try clearing your cache and redownloading the asset.
I really like the pack so far, bought it awhile ago but just got around it using it properly. This might be a far shot, but I’m not that artistically inclined, is it possible if someone could help me achieve a moebius type cel shading with this pack? Try Version 1 of the shader as it had several parameters used to get this effect.
In short: use simple textures with sparse detail, a flattened base colour setting in the shader and 1 pixel outline and detail lines.
To get the sparse detail you add subtle hard-edged patches of colour variations to your textures, which the line detail shader will then outline.
Finally there’s some shadow settings for hardening up the darker areas.
edit: nevermind, we had some materials double that missed the ScreenAligned stuff. Seems like the local cache is mixed up or something, redownload didn’t fix it. but we are good now.
Yeah, lot of cache issues over the last six months. The option to clear the launcher cache for individual assets seems to have vanished as well.
Are there any plans for a 4.20 update
I’ll be checking it out with 4.20 compatibility wise in the next few days when I get some time, but I don’t expect there to be any updates required. Try adding the 4.19 version to your 4.20 project.
Hi , i know you did a great work with this effect, but still i need to ask. Is there a way to use this post process with widgets? I know that widgets cant have emissive color, so its probably hard. I tried to change materials thats are with this package but my knowledge about materials sux. I just need an effect to highlight edges and border. You know, the main aspect of this effect but without light. I know that its probably impossible, but still have hope. Thanks!

Widgets are drawn after post-process, so it can’t be done.
The main benefit of the cel shader being in the post-process domain is so that the lines are a consistent size in a 3D world no matter how far they are from the camera. With your UMG stuff being 2D the lines will always be the right size, so you should make them manually and bake them into the texture.

It no longer matters where the cel lighting component exists in the actor’s component tree, if a mesh has a material that is a child of the Mat_CelLighting material, it will be cel shaded.
I’m having an issue where there is ghosting and the cell shader is offset ie covers part of the screen but not all. Im using 4.20.3 and happens with a fresh project too
You’re using an old version. Clear your downloaded files and re-add it to your project. That’ll fix the offset.
If the ghosting still remains after that, try turning down motion blur.
switching to the V2 shader fixes it, but i will try that and if no dice the V2 shader looks pretty similar with settings tweaks.
Edit: it did download the new files when i tried on 4.20.3 so shrug
Strange. I’ll double-check, but there’s a manual fix you can do in one of the previous pages of this thread.
hmm all the shaders have the required “UV” line from the previous page in them and its still offset, im trying forward rendering now… i will try redownloading one more time…
Edit: Deleting and redownloading made it alot better but there is still some ghosting in the forward render shader which is only noticeable as the height increases ie its normal at ground but as you go higher it starts ghosting more and more.

Edit: it seems these artifacts only occur if i open the shader preset hmm , if i relaunch the editor and dont touch the shader preset it seems fine… really weird but i will package and test to see if it works.
That sounds annoying. Which preset and shader version are you using?
im using the “celshaderforwarddefault” preset , with forward renderering now. I packed it and it doesnt see to show in a packaged version and it seems to only offset if i actually open the preset itself, so all in all it should be ok.
