Since this feature request
https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360002217391-masking-photos?page=1#community_comment_360001278132
has been closed for discussion but repeatedly misunderstood due to a misleading title, I want to revive it with this thread in the hope that it will be noted.
What is being discussed in the linked thread is NOT classic masking but adding simple geometry like planes for widow panes etc.
Very different from the feature request that it is compared to in the final post…
Not really, the mechanics discussed in my link are very different: adding geometry or rather influence (weigh) RCs mesh reconstruction towards a preferred geometry (with a control point based workflow) and not altering it after the fact.
I followed Pjotrs thread as well at the time but it seemed too indifferentiated, more problem solving oriented than an actual concrete feature request like the linked one. His focus was on either an automated process or changing geometry after it has been created, as opposed to before (like in my link).
