Is there a section specifinally for imports from SketchUP19 but "without" datasmith?

I am having a big nightmare for month. I don’t want to buy any new SU. and ONLY have 19pro. The Datasmith does NOT function with it! I installed several times to no avail.
In only get one window open in the UI then what?
It creates a file that ends in " .datasmith" in the file name but NOT with any particular extension.
Is there anywhere online a youtube that explains how to make this work. I have a BIG model its 18 storey/levels tall fully designed in SketchUP it renders perfect in Lumion10
but in UE 5.2 I can only get say less than 1/2 display somewhat correctly.
I have managed with my VIVE VR set to walk my building environment but then I hit
the abbysses where there is simply NOTHING no floor no wall nothing.
I also still dont understand. My model 1.4 GB in SU has 5000 + groups and I have used nearly all materials, glass and colours available just to have “different materials” to be able to reappoint later other materials.
I want to know can one change materials to selected faces in UE5.2 forgetting about what material they were made in SU? I have read that I should make my SU model as monochromatic as possible. That seems a HUGE JOB to take away all materials again and make everything white. Especially glass water etc…
In the moment the only way I know is to create an fbx to import into UE.
Is it better to explode everything in SU before creating the fbx or keep the groups?
Unfortunatly I wasn’t good enough to design everthung in UE from start. I did try but it was a disaster. Just taking floors and walls and then copy them and make walls out of floor and then not knowing how to change them into walls in the name etc…
Some may recognize my posting here sometimes. I find it a huge problem for beginners to use the right vocabulary to ask the right questions
So many interesting answers but they are always filled with so many technical words that one loosed head and tail. And yes there are places but come on how can one learn all these words. I used SU 3D Max Revit PS Blender but UE is soooo different. Yet so enticing. So many tutorials are excellent till they start using words that are well anchored in their teahcers brains but totally new to us

Is it better to import each group one by one ? And if so do I give an individual xyz 000
postion to each or must they have all the same position according to one main xyz of the entire project.
It is quite difficult to moved things around when not a specialist
AND I know I want to make a game out of it all BUT can it be built say in the architectural platform and then when all is imported taken into the game platform or must it be game from the beginning?
Thanks for any input

I think you may be in the wrong forum, sir…

Hi. Why would I be in the wrong forum?
I am looking to find answers to the import problems into UE5.2
I that’s why I asked my question here. It’s the UE forum after all
But thanks anyway.
