Third Person FBX files have choppy animations in them

When i was learning UE4 with the third person blueprints tutorial, the FBX files provided in the tutorial were quite choppy. It was mainly the Run,Walk and jump loop that were choppy.

I don’t know how to edit them in Maya either. I tried using ART to try to edit them but i don’t think it allows you to edit motions.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

What framerate are you getting? (It could well be something else, but that is the logical place to start).

Could you probably post a video, because I think that I have the same problem with my custom anims (suddenly it appeared, but always tought that I made something wrong in my 3d program -> but when I’m at home I will check it again :))

Never mind i solved it.

If anyone wants to know how to solve this do this:

  1. Open up a 3rd Person Template.

  2. Go to the animations folder.

  3. Open the animation you want in Persona.

  4. Export it as FBX.

  5. Import it to Maya (Or else you’ll get errors if you put the exported animation from UE4 without going to Maya).

  6. Export is as FBX from Maya.

  7. Drag it into UE4 and the animation should work properly.

  8. ???
