Installing issue (explanation)

  1. I start the Launcher
  2. i sign in
  3. i click on Library
  4. i see

5. After waiting a time, i see

6. at the dropdownmenu at the versionnumber i can choose 4.1.2 or 4.0.2
7. after waiting again some minutes and taking a look at the marketplace, it displays 4.2.1 and the install button

notes:

  1. tried to download tappy chicken
  2. dropdownmenu at tappy chicken displays “4.1.0” “4.0.1” “4.2.0”
  3. i choose 4.2.0
  4. i click on download
  5. the launcher displays the message “Engine not installed” and says, that i cant use tappy chicken, until a compatible version of the Engine is installed
  6. i click on download anyway
  7. nothing happens
  8. i switch over to the “Feed” and back to the marketplace and reselect tappy chicken, at the dropdown 4.2.0 and click on install
  9. downloading…
  10. downloading…
  11. downloading… :smiley: (i got not the fastest internetconnection)
  12. tappy chicken download complete
  13. i click on library
  14. i see tappy chicken
  15. button at tappy chicken says create projekt
  16. dropdown says “remove” “verify”

what du you mean? should i click on install at step 5?

Thanks for the write up, that provides some valuable information about your problem. What happens when you click install for an Engine version? I know you posted logs in the previous thread, but can you provide fresh logs from an instance where you click the Install button for the Engine?

Yes, when an Install button appears for any version of UE4 (as in your second screenshot), click the Install button and report what happens afterwards, as well as posting logs.

Ok, i clicked on install (v 4.1.2 - like visible on screenshot 2)
it said “Please Wait…”
after some minutes again it displayed Install (v 4.1.2 - so, same as my second screenshot)
i clicked again
it said “Please Wait…”
then it just displayed me v 4.0.2 and the install button
i clicked install and this opened (the standart program-crash-message) and a crash report window (btw i just clicked report crash (or whatever was written on the button^^)

BTW:
Win7 64bit
no firewall, no proxy, everything other at the internet works normal (steam, chrome, games, etc.)

Thank you for the additional information. I don’t see anything immediately suspicious in your logs, so I have escalated with our development team for further investigation. I will update you as soon as we have any additional information on this issue.

how long will that be?
Is it possible that my internetconnection is too slow?

I just started the Launcher as administrator and he directly started the download :DDD

What i now first do, is reinstalling the launcher and if this is not working i will install the launcher on my c-drive and if this is even not working, ill use something like ccleaner and retry it^^
